Erika Thompson

Erika Thompson is the director of the Grants Resource Center (GRC), a premium service of AASCU. Thompson’s tenure at GRC began in 2003 as a staff associate and she moved up the ranks over the years. Thompson’s vast knowledge of GRC services and its members aids her in developing GRC’s continued success with helping sponsored researchers stay competitive in an ever-changing grants landscape. Thompson directs a small staff and oversees strategic initiatives, coordination of member support, and management of office workflow. Additionally, Thompson represents GRC at professional meetings and planning activities. Prior to joining GRC, Thompson worked for various nonprofit organizations that focus on education and as a high school English teacher in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Thompson received a B.A. in English education from University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and an M.P.A. from Bowie State University (Md.). When not at GRC, Thompson enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and serving the community with the Metropolitan Washington Ear, UMES alumni association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
