Apply to the Becoming a Provost Academy, Emerging Leaders Program, Executive Leadership Academy, Millennium Leadership Initiative, and Student Success Institute.

A full submission requires candidates to complete this form, and an endorser to endorse your candidacy (via a separate form) by February 10, 2025. You will receive a confirmation email once your submission is complete (this may take 2-3 business days after submitting application and endorsement).

Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA): for experienced deans, assistant or associate provosts, and other academic affairs senior administrators who aspire to become a provost. Preference is given to candidates from AASCU member institutions. → More information.

Emerging Leaders Program (ELP): for academic and administrative professionals who are exploring opportunities to advance to higher administrative positions. Preference is given to candidates from AASCU member institutions. → More information.

Executive Leadership Academy (ELA): campus leaders and cabinet-level officers aspiring to presidencies and other senior executive positions. → More information.

Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI): for vice presidents and cabinet-level officers from different backgrounds who are committed to equal opportunity and student success for all, and who are one to two career advancements away from becoming a university president. → More information.

Student Success Institute (SSI): for provosts and vice presidents of student affairs with more than one year in the role, focused on student success. Participants may come alone or as a team. → More information.

MLI Program Format and Timeline

Programming will be a blended format with 2 in-person and up to 7 virtual engagements. In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected. Virtual programming will take place on select Tuesdays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET (exact dates TBD).

Two in-person seminars in Washington, DC (June 11-14, 2025 and March 11-13, 2026)
Up to 7 interactive 60- to 120-minute virtual sessions – select Tuesdays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET between August 2025 and March 2026 (exact dates TBA)
Mentoring with current AASCU presidents and chancellors (September 2025 – March 2026)
Coaching with MLI President in Residence (November 2025-March 2026)

ELP Program Format and Timeline

Programming will be a blended experience, with in-person and virtual programming. In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected. Virtual programming will take place on select Wednesdays and Fridays between 3 and 5 p.m. ET (exact dates TBD).

Up to 12 interactive 60-to 120-minute interactive virtual sessions (May 2025 and August–December 2025)
An intensive in-person program at AASCU’s Washington, D.C. office (June 24–26, 2025)
A project or initiative the participant leads on their home campus

BAPA Program Format and Timeline

Programming will be delivered in a blended format, with in-person and virtual programming. In-person programming will not be livestreamed or otherwise recorded. 100% attendance and participation is expected.

Two in-person seminars (July 17-18, 2025, Indianapolis, IN and July 2026) which will be held in conjunction with the AASCU Summer Meeting for Academic and Student Affairs Leaders
Regularly scheduled virtual workshops (August 2025 – June 2026)
The creation of a Professional Experience Plan (PEP), a highly individualized plan of activities developed by the participant and their mentor
Mentorship by both the participant’s campus mentor and the program director designed to fill the identified gaps in the participant’s expertise and experience

ELA Program Format and Timeline

Two in-person seminars in Washington, DC (June 16-17, 2025 and June 12-13, 2026)
Regularly scheduled virtual workshops (July 2025–May 2026)
The creation of a highly individualized Professional Experience Plan (PEP) designed to fill “gaps” in the participant’s expertise and experience
Mentorship by both the participant’s current president and the program director

Campus plan presentations at the AASCU 2026 Summer Meeting for Academic and Student Affairs Leaders (July 2026, date and location TBA)
