Lara Schwartz

Lara Schwartz is the founding director of the Project on Civic Dialogue at American University (DC). She draws on her experience as a civil rights lawyer in her teaching and programming. Her new book, Try to Love the Questions: From Debate to Dialogue in Classrooms and Life, provides a framework for understanding and practicing dialogue across differences. Schwartz does workshops on academic freedom, free expression, dialogue-centered teaching, and dialogue across differences at schools and other institutions around the country.
